~Our Story ~

John John Fulgenzi grew up in the restaurant business having worked at his parents' restaurant since he was 9 years old.  In 1997, he decided to branch out on his own and opened his first restaurant in Athens.  Coming from an Italian family based in deep family traditions, John John decided to open a Trattoria in Chatham, Illinois in 2005.

The meaning of Trattoria is "a small family restaurant which follows the traditions of family". With this in his mind and heart, John John uses old family recipes and serves wine in small juice glasses, just like his great grandfather Nicola Fulgenzi used when he served his homemade wine to everyone who stopped by.  

 

John John treats every customer like family, and truly enjoys interacting with his customers. When not cooking or catering an event, you will find him in the dining rooms, chatting it up with all of his guests.

Fulgenzi's offers a full service restaurant, a lounge and banquet rooms available for parties and events on-site,  and catering off-site at a venue of your choice!
